Around Here...

E has been sick with an ear infection, runny nose, cough, and two molars coming in. And on top of that she had her 18 month check up with two shots. It was a rough day.

Before her shots....
After the shots:

She was like this most of the day.

We were in Squirrel Hill already, so I thought going to the library might cheer her up and it did....
for all of 2 minutes. She wanted in on a game of checkers that some kids were playing. When I told her she couldn't take the pieces, she threw herself on the floor kicking and screaming. I knew it was bad when a few librarians came running to see if everything was okay. We went home.
She fell asleep in her carseat....this NEVER happens and I really mean that. She didn't even sleep when we took a road trip to the Outer Banks.

This might of been one of the best parts of the day for all of us!

So today is a little better.
We are working hard on getting her to eat non-pureed food. Doc says that if she doesn't start soon that she might need some eating therapy. So today I tried my best to give her a variety. It didn't go too well. After spitting out her pasta, banana, and carrots (which she also mashed in her hands), I tried a  piece of cheese. It's usually a winner.

First she made a cheese tower and then rubbed it all over her face.

then licked it and attempted to get some into her mouth.

then finally ate one teeny tiny piece.

 The end result...
I suppose we'll give it another go at dinner time!

I forgot I had these pictures so thought I'd add them in.
One thing that has made E happy the last few days is a new friend she has made.....

This is Victor (not sure how Alex spells his name). Alex brought him home from Africa.

She talks to him and as seen in this picture, she likes to dress him up in some jewelry.

Hoping for a great rest of the week!

Shots are the worst! JM can't stand going to the doctor's. He hates everything about it: the stethoscope, when the doctor checks his ears, and worst of all, shots. Maybe he'll start acting like a big boy soon and be cool about it. That's not likely though. I agree with Jess. Your library looks awesome!
