tight spaces

Elsa likes to squeeze into tight spaces....

She even sleeps like she has to fit in that corner

Oh and I must mention that this girl will start dancing as soon as she hears any music regardless of the genre....

Party Weekend

We had a big party to celebrate GG's birthday this weekend. Lots of family, friends, food, football and fun. I have decided that Elsa is a bit of a party girl. The party started at 7 and she usually is in bed by 8, so I wasn't sure how she'd hold up. She loved all the people and was as happy as could be, laughing, smiling, and walking around checking everything out.  (thanks GG for most of the pictures!)

Fun playing with Uncle Joe

E found GG's pearls!

E hadn't seen her Great Aunt Sally since last November, but you would never have known. Elsa has one happy girl having Sally here to play with.

Cousin Trisha was a big hit with Elsa. Whatever Trisha did made Elsa crack up laughing. It was really fun watching them play.

 Elsa and Uncle Andrew

Elsa made some new friends at the party and loved following Julia and her school friends around the house.

Singing happy birthday and GG getting ready to blow out the candles.

It was a super fun weekend and I think Elsa (and everyone else I am sure), now needs a few days to catch up on sleep-no more 10:30 bedtime for her!

A success!

E has been looking at her quiet book for the last 20 minutes. I didn't think she'd really be into it for another couple months. She has been so quiet that I had to keep checking to really make sure she was still there! Not only do the pages keep her occupied but so do the rings, eyelets, and pieces that hold the book together. The only downside....she is still trying to eat everything in it. I have a feeling I will be remaking lots of pieces!

Video Wednesday

This was last Sunday.  She had an eventful day causing all this excitement:

                              1. The Steelers won in overtime
                              2. Julia and Joe were over
                              3. She got a few bites of vanilla ice cream after dinner

E is becoming a good little walker and it gets her pretty excited. Laddie on the other hand doesn't know what to think about her squeals and the fact that she is now face level with him. So, he just barks and barks. This was going on for a long time this morning but I was only able to get a snippet of it on video.

Who knew baby food lids would be so handy!

I've been saving any baby food jar lids that I had to make a matching game for E. Today I was on an important phone call and these kept her so happy!

She would put them all in her book bin then take them out over and over again.

                                      Such concentration

she sure likes to make a mess!

Morning Entertainment

The streets in front of the house are being repaved, so every morning at about 6:59 sharp you hear the big trucks come in, beeping and tearing up the asphalt. This works out well because E wakes up at about 7 and the first thing she does is go strait for the windows. We sit  there for quite a while and watch the trucks do their work while she yells and points at them. This is about the only time during the day where she actually sits still!

Elsa's Birthday

Just a warning- this is a long post!

We had a fun lunch get together for Elsa's Birthday. It was a lot of fun- full of family, gifts, food, playing/visiting and of course lots of cake!
E with her birthday shirt on and ready to play!

The Cake...

Some Videos of E and her Birthday cake. At first she was not so sure about it but that quickly changed!

The Presents...

E was one lucky birthday girl!

My Parents came to celebrate  and we had planned to go back home with them since Alex has a long weekend. So after the party, we headed downtown to walk around before dinner.

 E outside the PPG building.

 On the Heinz Dinosaur

Alex was able to get us a private little corner table where E could crawl around and people watch out the window. She was as happy as can be with that window and her green bean. (I think you can see it in the pic on the right, which she carried all the way back to my parents in Huntingdon)!

On the way drive to Huntingdon
E kept puting her baby on her head!
Thanks to everyone for making Elsa's first birthday so special!
She is one loved, happy and exhausted baby!

It's done...

After like 100 hours of labor (well maybe not 100 but I bet it's close to that), Elsa's quiet book is complete. Just in time for her get together on Saturday.  I ended up with a pretty basic cover instead of the one I had previously envisioned but I think it turned out pretty well. I left extra room to add more pages later and maybe once I recover from being hunched over the sewing machine, I'll add a little pocket for extra pieces.

Now on to finish the last two projects for Saturday!
