Week 52

Tomorrow E turns one!
I can hardly believe it.

She is one busy baby

and I'm sure she'll be one very busy toddler too!

Now that she is just about waking, we find her almost always in this sumo squat position, which is sometime mistaken for us thinking she is filling her pants!

I am just about done with her quiet book and other birthday projects, so stay tuned for upcoming pictures!

Week 51

Elsa has become quite the little dancer- it's mostly all in her arms! She really started while at the beach with her cousin. They would bang on the piano toy, Elsa would dance, and Dulany would sing. We got a few videos and pictures of her dancing.

Not sure if she is trying to dance or if she is just really excited about the music!

Week 50

Wow, week 50 already?!?

Hard to believe she will be a year old in less than 2 weeks.

This week brought two things....

1.  We had a breakthrough yesteray.

E finally picked up her sippy cup and drank from it.
Yes, this has been a struggle.
She usually picks it up and throws it on the floor.
Will it happen again, probably not, but I can always hope.

2.   Now on to the next battle....eating.

She had finally started to eat a lot better.  But as of the last few days she refuses to let me feed her anything. She wants to feed herself, which is great, but she only has about 3 bites and plays with the rest. I've been trying to cut her bottles down so she is hungry but it has resulted in her waking up at night hungry.

So, meals take a loooong time and we dont get much out of them (besides a still hungry and messy child).  I can't lie- I am getting a little stressed about getting her off the bottle and getting enough food into her through out the day. Let's all hope this is just a little phase she is going through that passes quickly!

Butler County Farm Show

Alex took Elsa, me, and Andrew to the Butler County Farm Show. I've never been to a farm show and assumed it was the same thing as a county fair but it's something totally separate. E had fun seeing all the animals and Alex had a great time eating his first deep fried treat.

We tried to get a side by side comparison- this bunny was bigger than E!

Alex's first deep fried twinkie- he said it was delectable!

Plenty for E to watch and point at.

She was one tired babe on the way home!

Week 49

We got the pool out for some fun this morning...
(there is another new post below this one)

First thing she did was dunk her face into the water

and then quickly came up like she wasn't sure that was what she really wanted to do!

But she did it again, but this time she blew bubbles

and thought it was pretty funny!

Finally she dives into the pool.

I think she misses the beach and all the water by how excited she was to be in the pool today....

Quiet book - half way there

I am a little over half way done and have about 3 weeks till E's birthday to get it finished. Here are the next 10 completed letters/pages...

E loves (and I mean LOVES) being under the table. So when I saw this felt playhouse, I knew it would be the perfect next project for me...

I came across this  play kitchen on this blog and just loved it. I am sure it's way over my ability level but the girl on the blog gave a pretty detailed tutorial and said it wasn't too hard.  So one day when we have a house, maybe I can convince Alex to help me with something like this for E.

and of course I had to throw in a cute video of E showing off her waving skills!

obx

We are back from the Outer Banks and

are going through a little of the post vacation blues from all our fun and

and for not knowing when these two will be able to play together again!

We sat lots and lots of bad traffic both ways but this sunrise did make up for some of it.

Alex and Tom did lots of boogie boarding

   and surfing

E had to get in on the surf action too!

We did some "crab hunting" at night

Seth and Marianne had the perfect evening for flying kites

we soaked up the sun on the back deck

E perfected her raspberries and wore her first pigtails!

The pool was a big hit with the girls

E had fun people and bird watching from the deck

we can't wait to hopefully go back again next summer!
