We just got back from an awesome week at the beach.
We are in what we call beach depression, trying to get back into our normal routines. FYI- this is a super long post!
E wanting to be like Uncle Andrew
puzzle time
Lucy holds on to her dad just like E used to (and maybe still does!?!), by the ears!
I thought that this bathing suit might of been too big on her when I bought it- nope. That top just wanted to roll right up her chubby belly-she's my little sausage.
So E had been talking about how much she wanted to see crabs at the beach this year. Well, as soon as we got there, that desire turned in to a horrible fear of crabs in the sand.
She only wanted to be held while walking from the blanket to the water
Then we eased her into the water with Alex
She decided it wasn't so bad after all
Soon enough she was sitting
Then laying
playing in the surf
and checking out the sand!
Lucy was such a trooper and took a nice nap on GG's lap.
GG and Grandpa were at the pier having breakfast, when they heard the news of a beached whale. They came and got us to come check it out. We got there after they had covered it up to try and preserve it. It was pretty cool.
Lucy girl braving the strong winds
E and Grandpa
Lucy had many firsts while at the beach. She discovered her toes,
learned to grab her toys,
and stick them in her mouth
She also starting rolling over
She loves her play mat but really likes to sit up,so this is the best of both worlds!
The downer of this trip was that I missed a strip on Elsa's leg when putting sun screen on her. She ended up getting 2nd degree burns on that area of her upper thigh. It was pretty sad. She got blisters and had to see the doctor to get it lanced. She was ordered no sun, sand, or water. The last few days at the beach were super windy and no swimming days, so all and all it she didn't miss out on too much.
The last day was pretty overcast and a little chilly so we put long clothes on E and let her go out on the beach for a while. She loved every minute of it!
You would never of known that she had a big boo-boo on her leg.
some serious concentration
One of those sticks soon became
her magic wand.
Spotting a bird...
casting a little spell on it.
Uncle Joe to finish the job.
From the things she was saying, you'd think she had seen Harry Potter. It was very amusing!
Magic wand doubling as a walking stick.
E made sure to get Julia her own wand
and Joe too!
hanging out
GG bundled up.
Lucy all ready to partake in the beach action
Once it was 6pm and the lifeguards were off duty, the boys and Julia just had to get in the ocean one more time!
Alex riding a wave in
A perfect way to end our week at the beach!
